The Collaboration: Worked alongside 3 senior technology leaders with over 20 years of industry experience each. As the sole developer, I was responsible for the entire technical implementation while learning from their strategic vision and guidance.

Eliminated middlemen who often exploited workers. Empowered workers to build their reputation and grow their client base independently.

The Learning: Building a two-sided marketplace requires balancing supply (workers) and demand (households), ensuring trust through verification, and creating value for both sides. Understanding the socio-economic dynamics of informal labor markets was crucial.

The Timing: When India banned TikTok, I built WittyClip – an advanced short-video platform as a weekend fun project.

Features: Video recording with RNCamera, multiple clips in single session, background songs during recording, video merging & trimming with frame previews, FFMPEG-based encoding with watermarks, filters, effects, social feed, and complete engagement features.

Tech Stack: React Native, FFMPEG for video processing, RNCamera for recording with custom bitrate/aspect ratio, frame-by-frame trimming with 10 preview thumbnails, real-time video encoding that combines trimmed video + song + watermark into optimized output.

Open Source: Released the entire codebase as open source for the community. Wrote a detailed Medium article on video encoding in React Native sharing the technical implementation.

Beyond Simple Shortening: While URL shorteners were common, ShortChey focused on providing actionable analytics and insights – turning simple link shortening into a powerful marketing and tracking tool.

Ahead of the Curve: Built RecordChey as an audio-first social platform years before audio social media became mainstream. This was before Clubhouse raised $4B, before Twitter Spaces, before audio became the next big thing in social media.

The Vision: Believed that audio was more personal, more authentic, and more accessible than video. Anyone could share their thoughts through voice without worrying about camera angles, lighting, or appearance. Voice is universal.

The Timing: Built this concept years too early. When Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces exploded in 2020-2021, it validated the audio-first social media thesis. The market just needed time to catch up to the idea.

The Learning: Being first isn't always enough. Market timing, distribution, and capital matter. But having the vision to see where things are heading years in advance – that's invaluable.
